NorCal's Tech Advisory Helps Scoot Science Reel in A $2 Million Capital Infusion and Hire 10 Employees
Scoot Science developed a proprietary software providing fish farmers with oceanographic and meteorological environmental data for the most comprehensive view of the local sea. Scoot Science joined the SBDC with just an idea and today their customers include the world's top-ten salmon producers. Additionally, our SBDC was able to help Scoot raise more than two million dollars in capital, opening doors for significant advancements in product development, operations, and sales pipeline.

Mayra Flores Starts a Business During the Pandemic and Already has Products in Over 100 Stores
Even a pandemic couldn't stop Mayra Flores's entrepreneurial spirit. During the first few months of the shelter-in-place, Mayra saw an opportunity to pivot her bartending business and launch her own line of mixer products. Mayra worked with her SBDC advisor to develop a business plan, establish a trademark and secure capital including an EIDL loan and a $50,000 microloan. Today, Mayra has her Flores Micheladas products in more than 100 retail locations.
