Quadrant Biosciences was founded by Richard Uhlig after his son got a concussion playing hockey. As his company grew, he partnered with SUNY Upstate Medical University to develop epigenetic tests for concussion, autism & Parkinson's disease. The Binghamton SBDC helped him with marketing diagnostic tests, filing grant applications and lender introductions. The company has received $5 million in grant awards & $33 million in private funding. Recently FDA approved his saliva test for Covid.

NYSBDC clients have provided face shields to first responders, medical supplies & equipment for health care, plexiglass barriers for various businesses, disinfection service, and meals for hospital workers during the Covid pandemic.
Richard Rattan, Founder & Owner, Safe Health Educators
After leaving the Air Force, Rattan served as an ER nurse, volunteer fireman on Long Island, fire captain for the United Nations, and then, while working as a paramedic for Northwell, he launched Safe Health Educators. Its services are for healthcare professionals who need to maintain their required certifications. As an American Heart Association-approved center, his offerings include Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and other courses.
